PASKENTA NOMLAKI FOUNDATION HOSTS FOURTH ANNUAL DRIVE-THRU COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION EVENT

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, through the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation, held its fourth annual drive-thru community food distribution event at The Links at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort on Thursday, November 16. The foundation generously provided 1,700 local families with the essential food items needed for a traditional holiday dinner through its food distribution event. The Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation continuously strives to support and uplift the community during the holiday season to ensure that no family goes without the essentials.

“With our current economic climate, we believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy and happiness that the holiday season brings,” said Tribal Chairman Andrew “Dru” Alejandre. “We are committed to ensuring that local families in our community have access to holiday meals that will bring comfort, nourishing, and moments of celebration to their tables.”

Through their onsite annual food distribution event, the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation provided 1,500 families with carefully curated holiday-themed food items that included traditional favorites such as turkey, chicken, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, green beans, corn, stuffing, and bread rolls. In addition to the onsite food distribution, the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation also donated food items for 200 families from various organizations in the local community, including Corning Dignity Health, North Valley Harm Reduction Coalition, Corning Rotary, and Corning High School Homeless and Foster Youth.
