DRIVE-THRU COMMUNITY FOOD DISTRIBUTION EVENT
Foundation donates holiday-themed food items to 1,700 local families in need
Corning, Calif. – (November 15, 2024) – The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, through the Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation, provided 1,700 local families with essential food items for a traditional holiday dinner during its fifth annual drive-thru community food distribution event on Thursday, November 14 at The Links at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort. The Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation continuously strives to support and uplift the community, especially during the holiday season, ensuring that no family goes without the essentials.
“The holidays should be a time of joy for everyone, and we’re committed to supporting our community, especially during these challenging economic times,” said Tribal Chairman Brandin Paya. “We hope these meals bring comfort, nourishing, and a sense of celebration to our local families’ tables this holiday season. The Paskenta Nomlaki Foundation is dedicated to supporting our local community throughout the year.”
Each family received two bags of food containing holiday-themed food items, including traditional favorites such as turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, green beans, corn, stuffing, and bread rolls. The Corning Rotary also picked up 150 boxes and distributed them directly to Rancho Tehama community.
The Tribe extends heartfelt gratitude to our valued partners who made this event a success. Special thanks to Basin Enterprises, Inc. for donating traffic services, ensuring smooth logistics throughout, and to the Corning Rotary Club for assisting with distribution to the Rancho Tehama Community. We are also deeply appreciative of Walkers Printing for providing essential printing services.
